Gratitude Is My New Favorite Word

As an artist, no matter how hard you work or suffer or bleed… and no matter how earnest your attempts might be… all you can ask or hope for is that people will pay attention.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish to say THANK YOU for those cool, beautiful people and sweet supportive souls who have paid attention.

"What happens to men, to married fathers who beat their children senselessly...and then storm off into the restless Harlem night?

Do they grieve or lament their terrible actions? Do they hold long conversations with God? Do they think themselves sane and their actions as essential in building the spines of strong Black men?

What happens to them when they walk away from the pain and the ache and the madness they've made? Perhaps some find a soft young distraction that sighs in just the right key, or moans as if on cue, and she or he pretends to understand them...and then that pretty young distraction makes quietly eloquent love to another raging Black man."

Awww... thank you, Valentina, for the support. I appreciate it more than you know. Hope to get your honest opinion when you're done.

Reginald finished it? Wow. I wait patiently for his literary assessment. Yo, what's up, Reggie?

@ Queen:

Thanks so much for the kind words & the potential support. Despite the curious quiet surrounding "Like Litter in the Wind," I think you'll actually like, relate & appreciate the novel's message.

And I'd still say that, even if I hadn't penned it.

True story.

Yo my brother I know that I haven't been online much lately.....moving.

But I actually finished your book in August. I enjoyed it immensely. I certainly look forward to your future literary work.

Like Litter in the Wind was a very good read.

Thanks Reggie. Really glad you liked the book. ‘Litter’ took five long hard YEARS to write, so I don’t expect there’ll be many more books down the pike from me.

But I’ll still be a writer until my last breath.

Enjoy your new digs, bruh.
