Florida lawmakers judges and juries get it, Lin. They get that the laws in Florida benefit them, so they don't feel there's a need to change anything.

Understood, Val. But do they understand that the black male they engage in profiling could potentially BECOME someone EPIC in this world, i.e. a worthwhile citizen, a doctor who cures cancer or a future President?

Rhetorical, I guess.

Hey suga! Yep, it's time to stop the illusion of apathy and tell the real story.

As the mother of a son who bears a striking resemblance to Trayvon, I am grieving this loss, this verdict and this government.

I am glad the President spoke from a very personal place.

We must do our part... serve on juries, march, lift our voices and take care of our children.

We need adults to care about our children.

@ CG:

If only!!! There are times I try to go into Curtis Mayfield mode... like "I Plan To Stay a Believer"... but it gets very hard to do that in such a dangerously unjust climate.

@ LoveBabz:

True. WE indeed NEED ALL ADULTS to care for more children than just their own. ALL children have a worth in this world. And damned be those who don't see, acknowledge & RESPECT that fact!

Oh wow, I thought I left another comment.

Anyway, I hope it's cooled off a bit there. Stay cool.
